Universities Offering Correspondence Education



There are mainly learning modes in India - Classroom Learning in which the student has to go to the college or university to attend regular classes and the second mode is Distance Learning in which the student studies from Correspondence. There are many distance universities in India who do the courses in Correspondence and need SCDL Project Report. Apart from this, many regular universities also offer many types of courses in distance mode. Distant courses are very beneficial for those students who cannot become part of regular classes for any reason and want to get higher education. Apart from this, students who do not get good marks in Qualifying Examination, the distance mode is also a good option for them.



At present, there are 111 such institutions of higher learning in the country which are accredited by the Distance Education Bureau, UGC, to offer distance / crossprandence learning programs. Here we are referring to some of the well-known Distance Universities which are recognized by the UGC.
Indira Gandhi National Open University: This is a Central University and is a well known name in the field of distance learning education. Indira Gandhi National Open University, which offers a variety of courses, admits twice a year in January and July.Also provides  SCDL Solved Papers to students.




School of Open Learning, University of Delhi - it is also a Central University which offers many types of undergraduate courses through distance mode. Apart from this, many postgraduate courses are also available from distance mode. After Admission of Regular Course in DU, the admission process of SOL begins.
Maharishi Dayanand University: MDU is the state-level University of Haryana. It is in Rohtak. There are 3 undergraduate and 4 post graduate courses available from Distance Mode.

Yashwant Chavan Maharashtra Open University: YCMOU is a state level university based in Nashik, Maharashtra. Every year there is admission in June. There are a total of 8 schools that offer courses in certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
